The Association Of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA), Strasbourg, France and 11 Local Democracy Agencies in Balkan area are instruments at the disposal of local and regional authorities that contribute to the local development in South East Europe. ALDA was established by Council of Europe, dedicated to:
foster institution building at local level through exchange of know-how (best practices with partners from all over Europe) and training of local elected representatives and administrators, foster the development of a civil society in which all sections of the community participate.
ALDA participated in realization of a number of projects regarding the capacity building . For ex. "Capacity building for local governments in waste management and the protection of the environment". Projects implemented by the 11 LDAs. Supported by FEDRE/Canton of Geneva. "Promoting Local Economic Development in the Western Balkans: Youth Groups Capacity Building". Projects implemented by the 11 LDAs. Sponsored by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in partnership with the Norwegian Association of Local and regional Authorities "Local Economic Development in the Balkans". Projects implemented by the 11 LDAs. Supported by French Ministry of Foreign Affairs IB Program “The Italian cities for the cities of the Balkans”. Projects implemented by the 11 LDAs.
Supported by Cooperazione Italiana/the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ANCI, the Italian Association of Municipalities.ALDA will participate in the project by indentifying the distinguished EU experts and the cities within the network (more than 100 European cities), with high achievements in the area of enviromental protection, to host the study tour of the trainees. It should be stressed that the City of Kragujevac is the member of ALDA. |
